The sewer system shall conform to the standards of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District. 2. 6" V.C.P. house connections shall be constructed from the sewer main to the property line for each lot. 3. The developer shall furnish the newer contractor with a plot plan indicating the re- commended location of the house connection for each lot prior to sewer main construction. 4. Manholes shall be bfick or precast concrete as manufactured by Associated Concrete Products Inc., or approved equal. 5. Sewer manhole frames and covers shall bo left 6" below finish grade. 6. Sewer manhole frame and cover shall be Alhambra Foundry A -1270 or approved equal. 7. All sewer house connections shall be placed prior to surfacing of streets. 8. The sewer contractor shall raise the manhole frame and cover to finish grade after street surfaci:gg is completed. 9. Clay pipe joints shall be mechanical compression joints. Mechanical compression joints shall be "Wedge- Lock ", "Speed -Seal Mainline ", or approved equal. 10. Stamp "S" on curb at sewer lateral locations. II. Contractor shall request inspection from the office of the Sanitary District Engineer 24 hours prior to commencement of work. Telephone 556 -5400. 12. Permits required shall be obtained from the Street Department 77 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. Telephone 556 -5307. 13. Work not done in the presence of the District Inspector is subject to rejection 14. In no case will jointing material using neat Portland cement, mortar of grout be permitted. Contractor agrees that he shall assume sole and complete responsibility for job site condi- tions during the course of construction, including safety of all persons and property; that this requirement shall apply continuously and not be limited to normal working hours; and that the contractor shall defend, indemnify, and hold the owner and engineer harmless from any and all liability, real or alledged, in connection with the performance of work on this Project, excepting for liability arising from the sole negligence of the owner or engineer. UNDERGROUND STRUCTURES: All underground utilities or structures reported by the owner or others and those shown on the records examined are indicated with their approximate location and extent. The owner, by accepting these plans or proceeding with the improvements pursuant thereto agrees to assume liability and to hold undersigned harmless for any damages resulting from the existence of underground utilities or structures not reported to the undersigned, not indicated on the public records examined, located at variance with that reported or shown- on records examined. The contractor is required to take due precautionary measures to protect the utilities or structures shown and any other utilities or structures found at the site.
