General Information: CR&R Incorporated (CR&R) is a privately owned company, registered as a California corporation in October 1963. Clifford Ronnenberg, as trustee of the Ronnenberg Family Trust, owns 100% of the stock of the company. The company has been providing solid waste (SW) collection and materials recovery services in Southern California for more than 50 years. The District may, with reasonable notification, schedule an appointment to access the site, equipment, books and records that are used to perform under this contract. Rate: The following jurisdiction presently is served with a comparable, single stream, waste collection program in Orange County. The guide also informed them of the material recovery facility (MRF) used to recycle waste collected from their residences. To further reach the residents, the guide had been hand delivered to all Costa Mesa Libraries and Community Centers in July 2012. 3 Contractor Outreach /Education (Continued) CR&R, when requested by the District, provided tours of the Material Recovery Facility. Last year tours included District Staff, District Representative (Mike Balliet), Estancia High School, Mariners Elementary School and Costa Mesa College Park Elementary. In March, 2013, CR&R staff participated in Costa Mesa High School Environmental Fair, in which over 800 Costa Mesa students attended. CR&R staff promoted recycling, composting, and the diversion process through the use of the single cart system. CR&R continues to provide roll offs containers, special event boxes and/or service the community in an effort to promote recycling. November 17, CR&R provided the roll off for the CMSD’s first community’s Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection event. The event attracted about 381 vehicles from Costa Mesa, Newport Beach and Irvine and collected over 36,000 pounds of unwanted household materials. The materials included motor oil, latex paint, antifreeze and batteries. CR&R also continued to supply special bins and service to assist the District with the annual telephone book contest. In December, CR&R delivered 22 bins to 21 schools with special weekly collection service for a five week period. Truck Messaging Signage: In addition to the standard rotating banner, “Costa Mesa Sanitary District Recycles”, CR&R designed and used four additional recycling messages. July 2012 – Stop Junk Mail November 2012 – Christmas Tree Collection Program January 2013 – Large item Pick-Up June 2013 – City of Costa Mesa 60th Anniversary Besides the banner message signs, CR&R also changed the large billboard sign to better represent the Costa Mesa Sanitary District. 4 Vehicles: CR&R operates 9 Side Loaders and one Front Loader in order to service the Costa Mesa Sanitary District residents.
