Scavenging : In the m onth o f April, there were two c all s made to the District HQs to report scavenging activity . One call was to report scavenging on the 400 Blk of Broadway, but the party was gone upon arr ival. Another resident called to complain about scavenging on the 1900 Blk of Church St, every Tuesday around 2 :00 p .m . I have monitored the area and have not observed any activity yet, but will continue to monitor. Trash Container Enforcement : In the month of April , there were four complaints that came into the District HQ to report addresses that leave their trash bins (t/b) in public sight (p/s). I made a site visit to the following addresses: 661 & 664 Darrell – 661 was tagged w/ a 1 st Notice and found no t /b in p/s on 664 164 #B Magnolia St – Tagged w/ 1 st notice 1105 Salinas Ave – Spoke to property owner and issued a 1 st Notice 157 #A 23 rd – Tagged w/ a courtesy notice In addition, we received a complaint from a resident living on the Eastside of Costa Mesa, requesting we patrol his neighborhood for trash containers in public sight. This resident provided us with several addresses on Santa Ana Ave, Knox Pl, Orange Ave, Knox St, and Ogle St who are storing t heir trash bins in public sight or leave them o ut on the curb for several days after they have been serviced. I have done a sweep of several streets in the area , and as of May 8. 2013 , a total 11 1 st Notices (yellow) have been issued. I am not finished going through the whole area, and will continue t o do so in the upcoming weeks. I hope to finish the area and go back , and if needed, issue 2 nd Notices (red) and citations after that.
