The nomination filing deadline is Friday, May 3, 2013. S ta ff Recommendation That the Board of Directors considers nominating a representative from CMSD to serve on SDRMA Board of Directors and direct staff to prepare a resolution for the April 18, 2013 Board of Directors meeting. Analysis SDRMA is a public entity Joint Powers Authority that provi des cost effective property/liability, workers’ compensation, health benefit coverage and comprehensive risk management programs for special districts. SDRMA is governed by a Board of Directors elected from the membership by the programs’ members. SDRMA Board of Directors role is to provide effective governance by supporting a unified vision, and ensuring accountability, setting direction based on the organization’s mission and purpose. Directors also establish and approve policies to ensure SDRMA meets its obligations and commitment to its members. The Directors seats that are up for election serves a four year term beginning on January 1, 2014 and ends on December 31, 2017. Nominations must be a member of the agency’s governing body or full -time manag ement employee and be an active member agency of both SDRMA’s property/liability and workers’ compensation programs.
