03 - ORDINANCE ENFORCEMENT REPORT AUGUST 2012COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT Protecting our community's health and the environment by providing solid waste and sewer collection services. www.cmsdca.gov COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT . . .an Independent Special District Memorandum To: Scott Carroll, General Manager From: Isidro Gallardo, Ordinance Enforcement Officer Date: September 8, 2012 Subject: Ordinance Enforcement Report – August 2012 This report summarizes major points for three ordinance enforcement topics covering Scavenging, Graffiti, and Trash Container Enforcement. Scavenging: In the month of August, there were no calls to the District HQs to report scavenging activity. There were several incidents I observed directly; the majority of the scavenging incidents listed below were not individuals who are trying to make a business from recycling materials. In addition, General Manager Scott Carroll requested I make it a priority to patrol the alleys near Ford Rd and Bernard St. Residents living in the area have complained of individuals consistently going through their trash bins. I have not observed any scavenging activity so far, but I will continue to monitor the area and it will remain a priority. There was one citation issued in the month of August. Areas and times were scavenging was observed by the OEO: DATE TIME ADDRESSES Citation Issued 8/2/2012 8/6/2012 8/20/2012 8/21/2012 8/24/2012 8/27/2012 06:55am 06:40am 07:10am 08:25am 08:30am 09:15am 08:00am 08:35am 06:45am 1500 Blk Coriander (alley) 2200 Blk of Pamela Ln 520 Blk of Joann St (alley) 700 Blk Scott Pl 2048 Meyer Pl 1950 Charle St 250 Blk of Broadway St (alley) 900 Blk of Mission Dr 2050 Palace Ave No No No No No No Yes No No Ordinance Enforcement Report September 8, 2012 Page 2 of 2 07:05am 2000 Wallace Ave No Graffiti: Nothing to report.
