w%ns'c,costa-mesa ea us During the strategic planning workshop in February 2000 the consultant for the
District, Rauch Communications recommended the Sanitary District update its Sewer
Master Plan. The consultant also recommended the update be completed by the end
of the year 2000
Mailing Address Traditionally the purpose of a sewer master plan is to insure the sewer system has

construction projects are added to the yearly CIP The previous Master Plan Update
by the Sanitary District did just this.
Now however as a result of aging sewer systems, the current requirements for
totally eliminating sewer spills, and the necessity for a documented emergency
Street Address response program, a Sewer Master Plan Update needs to have additional components.

It is the intent to prepare the Sewer Master Plan with three main sections; a Capacity
Analysis, the Sewer System Management Plan, and the Emergency Response
Program. It is also proposed to use a three ring binder to hold the plan so that new
sections, changes to the plan, and updates can easily be added The Sewer System
Management Plan that will be included as part of the Sewer Master Plan will be the
Board of Directors same document that satisfies the Water Quality Control Board's Waste Discharge
