Roll Call PRESENT: Directors - Stephens, Porter, Hollister, and Meyers
ABSENT: Directors - Norman'
Officials Present: Assistant Secretary Swartz, Attorney Dungan,
Engineer Southworth, Director of Finance Hartzler, and
Foreman Bogart
The Directors of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District met in Special
session at 7 :36 p.m. on November 20, 1963, upon call of the
President of the Board, to discuss the Staff's report concerning
overlapping areas within the City of Newport Beach.
The meeting was called to order by President Meyers.
Staff Report Attorney "Dungan informed the Board that the staff had given
on Overlapping considerable study to the future of the District, now that the
Areas within District has successfully constructed sewer facilities and
the City of provided garbage and trash collection services for the area in
Newport Beach and around Costa Mesa.
The study indicated that for the future economical well -being
of the District that certain boundary adjustments should take
place, and that some of the boundary adjustments would result
in areas being removed from.the District.
After discussion, Director Stephens made a motion that the staff
be authorized to open discussions with the City of Newport Beach
to see if Newport Beach would be not only willing but able to
serve such areas in the event the District removes said areas
from its boundaries by providing sewer facilities therein and
garbage and trash collection therein. This motion was seconded
by Director Porter and carried by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Directors - Stephens, Porter, Hollister, and Meyers
NOES: Directors - None
ABSENT: Directors - Norman
AdJournment Upon motion by Director Stephens, seconded by Director Porter,
and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
