Abandon sanitary sewer facilities in vicinity of Mesa Drive. Rearrange
or abandon sanitary sewer facilities in Palisades Road. (Newport Freeway -
0.3 mile south to 0.4 mile north of Palisades Road - Bristol Street) .

FIRST PARTY: State of California, acting by and through its Department of Public Works, Division of Highways,
hereinafter called STATE.
SECOND PARTY: COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT
hereinafter called OWNER.
Relocation is required of certain utility facilities of OWNER, cost of which is to be borne by STATE because:
Section 703 of the Streets and Highways Code : Publicly owned sewers.
I. Description of Work
In accordance with Notice to Relocate No. 7-6962, dated
February 23, 1971, State Highway Contractor will furnish
and install the following items:
In the vicinity of Mesa Drive
A. Make two cuts and place two plugs in 8-inch vitrified
clay sewer pipe.
B. Remove one sewer manhole.
C. Abandon 660 lineal feet of 8-inch vitrified clay
sewer pipe.
D. Abandon one sewer manhole.
In Palisades Road
A. Adjust two sewer manholes to grade.
B. Abandon three 6-inch vitrified clay sewer pipe
laterals.

II. Plans and Estimates
Said work shall be performed substantially in accordance with
State 's Plan Number 192-6, two sheets, dated February 11,-- 1971,
and estimate dated February 11, 1971 . Copies of plans and
estimate are on file in the District 07 Office of the Division
of Highways, 120 South Spring Street, Los Angeles, 90012.. Minor
deviations from the above-described work may be made and inci-
dental work relative thereto performed by the Owner, 'When
mutually acceptable to bothvparties and upon approval by the
State.
II2. Performance of 'fork
It is hereby understood and agreed between the parties that all
relocation work set forth in Section I above and indicated on
plans designated in Section II above shall be performed by the
State under Highway Contract.
IV. Acceptance by Owner
Owner agrees to acdept the operation, use and maintenance of
the sewers as constructed.
V. Credits
It is mutually understood and agreed by the parties that credits
to the State for betterment, salvage and depreciation are not
applicable to this Agreement .
