Amendment - Burns, Esq., Alan R. - 2006-05-01 AMENDMENT TO
LEGAL COUNSEL AGREEMENT
This AMENDMENT TO LEGAL COUNSEL AGREEMENT is made
and entered into this 1st day of May, 2006 by and between the
COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT(hereinafter referred to as 'DISTRICT")
and ALAN R. BURNS,ESQ. (hereinafter referred to as "BURNS").
Recitals
WHEREAS, DISTRICT retained BURNS as its General Counsel on January 1, 1995; and
WHEREAS, DISTRICT has recently reviewed BURNS'performance on April 20,2006 and
found it to be satisfactory; and
WHEREAS, DISTRICT desires to give BURNS an increase in compensation as a result of
this review.
NOW, THEREFORE,DISTRICT does hereby amend its Legal Counsel Agreement dated
January 2,.1995, as amended thereafter, by changing BURNS'compensation to provide for an
increase in his hourly rate and to provide for other lesser rates as follows:
District Counsel/Partner $170
Associate Attorney $125
Law Clerk $80
Paralegal (meets criteria of $75
Bus. and Prof. Code 6450)
Except as expressly amended, all the terms and conditions of that Legal Counsel Agreement dated
January 2, 1995 as amended shall remain in effect.

into this 14th day of August 2001 by and between the COSTA MESA
SANITARY DISTRICT, (hereinafter referred to as "DISTRICT") and ALAN R.
BURNS, ESQ., (hereinafter referred to as "BURNS").
RECITALS
WHEREAS, DISTRICT retained BURNS as its General Counsel on January 1,
1995; and
WHEREAS, DISTRICT has reviewed BURNS' performance and found it to be
satisfactory; and
WHEREAS, DISTRICT desires to give BURNS an increase in compensation as a
consequence of this review.
NOW, THEREFORE, DISTRICT does hereby amend its Legal Counsel Agreement
dated January 2, 1995, as amended thereafter, by changing BURNS' compensation to
provide for an increase in his hourly rate and to provide for other, lesser rates as follows:

Senior Attorney (5 years plus) $125
Associate Attorney $100
Law Clerk $ 65

Agreement dated January 2, 1995, as amended shall remain in effect.

TL IS AMENDMENT TO LEGAL COUNSEL AGREEMENT is made and
entered into this 1st day of August, 1997 by and between the COSTA MESA
SANITARY DISTRICT, (hereinafter referred to as "DISTRICT") and ALAN
R. BURNS, ESQ., (hereinafter referred to as "BURNS").
RECITALS
WHEREAS, DISTRICT retained BURNS as its General Counsel on January 1, 1995;
and
WHEREAS, DISTRICT has. reviewed BURNS' performance and found it to be
satisfactory; and
WHEREAS, DISTRICT desires to give BURNS an increase in compensation as a
consequence of this review.
NOW, THEREFORE, DISTRICT does hereby amend its Legal Counsel Agreement dated
January 2, 1995, as amended and as specifically amended on July 6, 1995, by changing BURNS'
compensation to provide that all services be compensated for at $125 per hour.
Except as expressly amended, all the terms and conditions of that Legal Counsel
Agreement dated January 2, 1995 as amended shall remain in effect.
