Officials Present: Attorney Dungan, Street Foreman Heller.
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Director Norman.
Canvassing of
This being the time and place fixed for the canvass of the returns
Election Returns
of the Santa Ana Heights Annexation +19 Election held on September
24, 19572 the returns of said election (and the absentee votes
cast at said election that have been received) were duly and
regularly canvassed as provided by law.

It was moved by Director Hollister to adopt Resolution +53, "A
Canvass of Election
.RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COSTA MESA SANITARY
Returns,
DISTRICT OF ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE RESULT
OF THE CANVASS- OF THE ELECTION RETURNS OF THE ANNEXATION ELECTION
HELD FOR ANNEXATION +19 ON SEPTEMBER 24, 1957."
The Board of Directors of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District of
Orange County, California, does hereby resolve, determine and order
as follows:
SECTION 1. That an annexation election was duly called
and regularly held by said District on the 24th day of September, 1957,
at which election there was submitted to the qualified voters of
the territory proposed to be annexed the following proposition,
to -wit:
Shall Annexation 4,19 be annexed to the Costa
Mesa Sanitary District?
SECTION 2. That the returns of said election have been
duly and regularly canvassed by this Board of Directors, as pro-
vided by law, and all absentee ballots received have been counted
and canvassed as provided by law.
SECTION 3. That the votes cast in the precinct established
for said election upon said proposition, and for and against said =
proposition, the absentee votes cast upon said proposition, and
for and against said proposition, and the total votes cast at said
election for and against said proposition, and upon said proposition,
are as follows:

SECTION 4. That the votes of more than one -half of all
the voters voting at said election were cast in favor of the adoption
of said annexation proposition, and said annexation proposition is
hereby declared to have carried at said election.
SECTION 5. That the Secretary of the Board of Directors
of the Costa Mesaanitary District is hereby directed to enter this
Reso- lution in full in the minutes of this Board.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 1st day of October, 1957.

by the following roll call vote:

Engineering Study The question was brought up by the Attorney whether the Board would
of Annex. #19 like to request the Engineer to draw up the preliminary plans for
starting the sewers in Annexation #19. It was moved by Director
Nelson, seconded by Director Hollister, and unanimously carried
that the engineer be requested to submit his proposals for the engineering
on Annexation #19.
