Minutes - Board - 1955-06-16i f Agreerm nt (Price & Sanitary 'District) Approval ADJOURNED MkSTING OF TFE BOARD OF DEECTORti The Board of Directors of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District, Costa Mesa, California, met in adjourned regular session, 12;00 P.M., June 16, 1955, at Kennedyas, 401 East 17th Street, Costa Mesa.! The meeting was called to order by President Meyers. Present: Directors Meyers, Nelson, Hollister, Norman. Attorney Dungan, Engineer Southtirorth Absent: Director Allen and Secretary Owen Kenneth Price was present and requested that the following revisions be made in the proposed Agreement before signing: Item 6 - Frequency of Rubbish Collections - That when wind or other Breather conditions make collections impractical, the District Engineer may allow collections to be made "thereafter when the weather conditions permit" rather than the present.wording "collections to be made the first day there Item 9 - Holidays - That Memorial Day be added to the list of legal holidays on which he shall not be required to make collections, Item 13 - Care of Containers - Provision added that "containers and lids shall not be left ,in the street". Item 17 - Complaints - The contractor said that it is sometimes LapossiblA- for him to make a report within_ 24 hours and suggested that the agreement,, authorize the contractor "or his agent" to make the report. On motion by Director Nelson, seconded by Director Norman, and unanimously carried, the agreement as written and including the above revisions, was approved and adopted, and the President and Secretary were authorized to sign said agreement in behalf of the District. Hollister Upon the recommendation of the District's Attorney and on motion by named Director Nelson, seconded by Director Norman, and unanimously carried, Assistant Al Hollister was appointed Assistant Secretary to the Board of Directors, Secretary to replace Fred Allen, resigned. Director Nelson informed the Board that the City of Costa Mesa is lease to in leasing the property located on Agest 19th Street (the former City:= City of which property is owned by the Sanitary District and that the City wante District- to use it for a storage yard. On motion by Director Norman, seconded by owned land Director Hollister, and unanimously carried, the District Attorney was instructed to draw up a lease agreemnt between the District and the City for a period of five years at a rental of '$1.00 a year, reserving the right of the Distract to store their own equipment on the property, and the City to pay any and all tax assessments on the property and to assume all liabilities. Mr. Lee Nelson, general manager of the County Sanitation Districts, was present and reviewed the policies of 4 ,ka Sanitation District No. 6 arz its relationship to the Costa Mesa Sanitary District. M
