RE: CHANGE ORDER #1 FOR COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT
Dear Mr. Carroll,
Per our conversation we are proposing a change order for additional design services for the Costa Mesa
Sanitary District Headquarters Facility. Our understanding is that the Sanitary District would like to include
the replacement of the monument sign into the current phase of work. This new monument sign would
be located on the east side of the driveway. To perform this work David Volz Design would provide one (1)
preliminary elevation with one alternative design for your review and approval. The sign design will then
be incorporated into the construction documents. Structural design for the monument sign will also be
provided.
We are also requesting additional fee for Electrical Engineering Services for electrical upgrades and lighting.
Electrical design was not included in our original proposal. Electrical design will include the removal of the
existing monument lighting and the addition of vandal resistant landscape lighting and new lighting for the
new monument sign. The design intent for landscape lighting is to up light selected trees and the corners
of the building while utilizing LED efficient fixtures. All work will be provided by Design West Engineering.
Our original proposal included civil engineering services for grading for landscape and hardscape. It did
not include utility relocation coordination or the preparation of easement documents. We are requesting
additional fee for civil utility coordination services and the preparation of easement documents (3 assumed)
which will be performed by DMS Engineering.
Signage Design: $ 2,000
Structural Engineering: $ 1,725
Electrical Engineering: $ 8,326
Civil Utility Coordination: $ 6,325
TOTAL CHANGE ORDER FEE: $18,376
