COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT
May 5, 1955
The Board of Directors of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District, Costa Mesa,
California, met in regular session at 7;30 P.M., May 5, 1955, at the
City Hall, 111 E. 20th Street, Costa Mesa. The meeting was called to order
by President Meyers;
Roll Present; Directors Meyers, Nelson, Norman, Allen, Hollister
Call Attorney Dungan, Engineer S outhworth
Absent; Secretary Owen
Minutes The minutes of the meeting of April 7, 1955, were read and approved as read.
On motion by Director Nelson, seconded by Director Allen, and unanimously
carried, the reading of the minutes of April 14th was waived and they were
approved as written.
S. Lewis On motion by Director Allen, seconded by Director Meyers, and unanimously carried,
`Sybil Lewis was hired at the rate of $1.75 per hour to record the minutes of
the meetings during the absence of the regular secretary.
Charle Mr. Roy Nelson, Robert Mennes and Fred Lorenz were present to seek guidance
St. from the Board concerning the installation of a sewer line on Charle Street.
Sewers They were advised that it would be more economical to install the line on
a cash basis, to be pro -rated among the property owners who would be benefited
by the installation, rather than by forming an improvement district. It was
suggested that they circulate petitions to determine the opinion of the property
owners, to include thereon the Engineer's figure as to the approximate cost,
and to present such petition at the next meeting of the Board.
A.Gentosi Mr. A. Gentosi was present for information regarding the basis on which his
sanitary district tax had been figured.
L. C. A letter was read from Lloyd C. Howard; requesting permission to construct a
Howard sewer line in Esther Street, Tract 641, said line to connect.to the existing
manhole at the intersection of Esther Street and Irvine Avenue, to be made
without cost to the District. On motion by Director Nelson, seconded by
Director Allen, and unanimously carried, the request was granted and the Engineer
instructed to draw plans and specifications subject to payment of the inspection fee.
Running The following bills were read and upon motion by Director Norman, seconded by
Expense Director Nelson, and unanimously carried, ordered paid from the Running Expense Fund;
