RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION NO. 92 -517
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT HONORING JAMES A.
WAHNER AS A DISTRICT BOARD MEMBER OF THE COSTA
MESA SANITARY DISTRICT AND STATING REASONS
THEREFOR. .
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: That
WHEREAS, JAMES A. WAHNER was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Costa Mesa
Sanitary District in 1978 and has been elected and re- elected continuously from that date to the present ;.

WHEREAS, he served as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the District for the years
1978 and 1979; and
WHEREAS, his Board members acknowledged his leadership and elected him President in 1980
and continuously since that,time; and
WHEREAS, under his leadership the District undertook a Materials Recovery Recycling
Program, leading all of the other districts and cities in the County of Orange toward this type of program
and leading all local agencies in waste diversion; and
WHEREAS, he has served as the District's representative on Orange County Sanitation
Districts, holding offices as a member of the Fiscal Policy Committee for seven years, serving one.year as
its Chairman; as a member of the Building Committee for four years; as a member of the Executive
Committee for ten years; as Chairman of Orange County Sanitation District No. 6 for nine years; as
Chairman of Orange County Sanitation District No. 1 for one year; and Vice Chairman of Orange
County Sanitation District No. 7 for three years;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that JAMES A. WAHNER be commended and cited
as an outstanding District Board member of the District because of the outstanding leadership, innovative
thinking, energy and dedication to public service exemplified by his activities during his entire tenure as
Board member;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that he be commended for his leadership which has made the
District a pioneer in the County for recycling and reclamation;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution duly certified by the Clerk be
forwarded to California Special Districts Association;
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be made a part of the permanent
records of the District.
