of the Board of Directors of the
COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT held at
2057 (Rear) Newport Avenue, Costa
Mesa, California, Thursday, July 29th,
1954.
Present: Directora TeWinkle, Nelson, Lord, Norman,
Meyers.
Attorney Anderson
Secretary Owen
Meeting called to order at one o'clock P.M. by President
TeWinkle,
Board received Messrs. Mottet and Somers who proposed
annexation of certain territory West of Pomona between
18th and 19th Streets and upon discussion agreed to circulate
Petitions. These visitors retired.
Secretary presented draft of 1954 -55 Annual Budget consisting
of the following estimates of Tax Levy based on County Valua-
tion on all property within Costa Mesa.Sanitary Distriet,viz:
$$10,788,750.00 as provided by County Auditor.
Running Expense Fund -
Tax rate 60¢ per $100,00 val.
Tax Levy $58,500,00
Bond & Interest Fund -
Tax,Rate 50¢ per $100,00 val.
Tax,Levy $47,852.00
___j,It was moved by Director Nelson, seconded by Director Myers,
that Budget as presented together with rates be adopted.
Motion carried and so ordered,
Under discussion of question of providing inspection service,
Secretary presented two applications in writing for the posi-
tion of Inspector and stated his inability to effect further
progress towards organization and establishment of definite
office arrangement until Status,Qf position of Inspector
had been determined.
It was moved by Director Myers, seconded by Director Lord,
that Attorney Anderson and Secretary be directed to prepare
and sign a communication addressed to the City of Costa Mesa
governing body requesting that the City of Costa Mesa provide
inspection service for House Connection construction upon terms

and conditions to be agreed upon between the Sanitary
District and the City. Motion carried and so ordered.
