For the month of August, the CMSD Code Enforcement Officer focused his efforts on patrols in various parts of the community. The goal was identify and deter instances of scavenging and residential trash carts left within the public view. In the month of August we saw a reduced number of complaints filed with CMSD Code Enforcement staff regarding scavenging activity in the city. As with most scavenging complaints, the alleged violations take place in the early morning hours. In order to address resident concerns, the Code Enforcement Officer investigated all complaints and adjusted his schedule to accommodate requests for early morning or weekend enforcement. Included below are instances of scavenging that were detected while the Officer was investigating specific complaints.
