A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT
DECLARING NO ELECTION NECESSARY FOR TWO POSITIONS TO BE FILLED ON THE BOARD
OF DIRECTORS AND REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO APPOINT THE TWO
NOMINEES MADE FOR THE TWO SEATS TO BE FILLED.
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT FINDS AND DECLARES:
(a) That only one person has been nominated for each of the two seats to be
filled on the Board at the forthcoming November election;
(b) That Robert Hanson and Eric C. Johnson each have been nominated to fill
a seat on the Board of Directors;
(c) That Section 23520 of the Election Code provides that in the event only
one person is nominated an election need not be held;
(d) That Section 23520, Election Code, further provides that the Board of
Supervisors may appoint the nccninees to fill the available seats on the Board
on request of the District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that an election shall not be held in November
to fill the seats on the Board of Directors for the District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board request the Board of Supervisors for
the County of Orange to appoint Robert Hanson and Eric C. Johnson to the seats to
be filled on the Board of Directors of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the
Board of Supervisors as provided for in Section 23520, Election Code, and that the
original of this Resolution be maintained in the records of the District.
