RESOLUTION NO. 87 -449
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT OF ORANGE COUNTY,
CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING DOROTHY PICKENS,
ENGINEERING AIDE I, PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT,
CITY OF COSTA MESA
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT,
ORANGE, COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, DO HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the Costa Mesa Sanitary District by agreement contracts
with the City of Costa Mesa for the District's daily operation; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Pickens has served the District in some capacity
since September, 1966 in all positions during her career, first as a
Division Clerk from September 1966 to April, 1972, then as a Division
Secretary from April, 1972 to April, 1979, then as an Engineering Aide I
from April, 1979, to present; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Pickens, in all positions, has dealt with sewer
permits and has overseen the preparation of the District solid waste tax
assessment roll before the age of the computer; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy's commitment to serving the best interests of
the District has resulted in high quality services, has insured that the
proper and appropriate fees were collected and that overpayments and
refunds were timely handled; and
WHEREAS, Dorothy Pickens has decided to retire from her position
after twenty -one years; and
WHEREAS, the character, friendliness, warmth and diligence of
Dorothy Pickens will be missed greatly by the Board and Staff of the
District;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of
the Costa Mesa Sanitary District expresses appreciation to Dorothy Pickens
for service to the District;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Ms. Pickens is hereby notified that
as a retired and private citizen, she will be required to maintain her
sewer lateral from her house to the main line in the street;
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that an original of this Resolution be
made a part of the perpetual records of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District.
