Proposal - Schuler - 2013-08-231),i% August 23, 2013 Costa Mesa Sanitary District 628 West 191h Street Costa Mesa, CA 92627 Attention: Rob Hammers Reference: 21st Pump Station Subject: Piping and Valve Replacement Gentlemen, We have reviewed the plans of the existing pump station and the Request for Proposal which described the worked the District desired to be done. The following clarifications are made regarding our proposal: 1) The District will assist in removing the pumps from the wet well. These pumps will be left on site, ready for redeployment. 2) The District will provide the vactor truck work to clean the existing wet well after the bypass is in place. 3) All stainless steel piping is schedule 10 in thickness and may be field or shop welded at the contractors discretion. 4) The plug valves are Milliken, the check valves are Clow lever and weight 5) The bid is based on 8" piping, valves and fittings 6) It may be necessary to close 21st street for the duration of the repairs. The District will assist in getting permission for this closure if necessary from the City of Costa Mesa. 7) The cost of bonds, special insurance, permits and engineering is not included 8) We include no electrical work except that necessary for the temporary bypass. Lump sum per above $ 65,767 We asked if 6" piping, fittings and valves would be allowed. In our mind there is a substantial savings potential. At the time of bidding we did not have an answer to this inquiry. Respectfully, Bruce A. Schuler President
