Minutes of Adjourned Meeting of the Board of E utilization
of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District held at 2057 (Rear)
Newport Avenue Costa Mesa California 7 :30 P M July 17th 1952.
Present: Directors TeWinkle, Nelson, Lord, Norman, Meyers.
Attorney Anderson.
Secretary Owen
Assessor Hostetler.
Assessor Hostetler presented 1952 -53 Assessment Roll.
No property owner or other person appeared at this meeting.
The only protest of tax payer was that of Alton G Hughes claiming
excessive valuation of Lot 13 Block C Tract 18 as shown on 1951 -52
rolls, filed verbally with the.Secretary, and requesting a reduction.
Upon consideration, the unanimous opinion of the Board was that a
reduction of valuation from $15 000 00 applied in 1951 -52 to $7500 00
for the year 1952 -53, was because of conditions, valuation and use of
improvements in this case,.justified and such was the order.
The Board considered the valuations applied by the Assessor to single
residence units and tentatively approved same.
The valuations suggested for multiple unit residence, hotel, motel,
trailer park, commercial and industrial units were carefully examined
and considered in each individual case and fixed by the Board.
The 1952 -53 District Assessment Roll thus arrived at, was upon motion
by Lord seconded by Meyers and carried, unanimously approved and ac-
cepted. The total valuation of same as submitted to the County
Auditor was $9,724,670 00
The,Secretary then presented 1952 -53 Budget, consisting of estimated
requirements as follows:
Bond Fund $48 318 00
Running Expense Fund $1 566 00
Construction Fund $21 846 00
Upon motion by Norman seconded by Lord this Budget was approved and
accepted.
It was also moved by Norman seconded by Nelson that Exemptions of
Church and other properties, together with Personal property, as
allowed in previous years, be allowed for the tax year 1952 -53. Carried,;
It.was moved by Nelson seconded by Meyers that the tax rates be fixed
as follows:
