of Board of Directors of Costa Mesa Sanitary District
held at 2057 (Rear) Newport Avenue, Costa Mesa California,
August 22nd 1950, for the purpose of canvassing Returns
of Special Bond Election of August 15th 1950.
Present: Directors TeWinkle, Dodd, Lord and Norman.
Absent: Director Nelson
Present: Attorney Anderson. Secretary Owen.
Absentee ballots were presented in sealed condition by Secretary,
opened and counted by members of the Board with the following
result. For, 32, No, None, Total 32.
Election Returns from the several Consolidated Voting Precincts
were presented by Secretary. Same were examined by all members of
the Board present and the following results verified as set forth in
said Returns.

On motion by Lord, seconded by Dodd, the following RESOLUTION
was adopted as shown therein.
RESOLUTION OF THE GOVERNING BOARD
OF COSTA.MESA SANITARY -DISTRICT
STATING THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS
OF ELECTION RETURNS OF THE BOND
ELECTION HELD IN SAID DISTRICT ON
AUGUST 15th 1950.

WHEREAS, the Governing Board of Costa Mesa Sanitary District
by resolution and order adopted July 6th 1950, duly called and provided
for the holding of a special election in said District on August 15th
1950, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of said
District the following proposition, to wit:
"BOND PROPOSITION: Shall the Costa Mesa Sanitary
District incur a bonded indebtedness in the principal
sum of $850 000 for the purpose of raising money for the
acquisition and construction of a system of trunk and lateral
sewers, including the acquisition of all easements and
other property necessary therefor ?"
and,
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regularly given
in time, form and manner as provided by law and said election was
duly held on said date at the polling places designated in said
resolution and order and the votes thereat were duly canvassed and
the returns thereof made at the time and in the manner and form
provided by law; and
WHEREAS, on this 22nd day of August, 1950 at the hour of 8 o1clock
P M., said Governing Board has duly assembled at its usual place of
meeting and has canvassed the returns of said election, including all
absentee ballots received.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Governing Board of Costa Mesa Sanitary
District, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows:
• Section 1. That the total number of votes cast in each of the
election precincts established for said election upon said proposition
and for and against said proposition, the total number of absentee votes
cast at said election upon said proposition and for and against said
proposition, and the total number of votes cast in said district at
said election upon said proposition and for and against said proposition
are as follows:

Section 2. That the votes of not less than two - thirds of all of
the voters voting at said election were cast in favor of the adoption
of said proposition, and said proposition is hereby declared to be
• carried, and this Board is authorized to issue bonds therefor as
provided by law.

Section 3. That this resolution, together with the certifi-
cate attached thereto, shall be entered in full on the minutes of
this Board.
PASSED ATTID ADOPTED by the Governing Board of Costa Mesa
Sanitary District on August 22nd, 1950, at an adjourned r.egialar
meeting of said board by the following vote:
AYES: Dodd, Lord, Norman, TeWinkle
NOES: None
Absent: Nelson
IN WITNESS of the passage of the foregoing resolution
and order, the undersigned, constituting not less than two - thirds of the
members of the Governing Board of Costa Mesa Sanitary District, have
hereunto set their hands the date of the adoption of said resolution.

The following STATEJ�IEANT OF SECRETARY was presented by the Secretary
and upon motion by Dodd seconded by Lord carried by unanimous vote,
was ordered approved and accepted by the Board.
STATE14ENT OF SECRETARY
I, F B Owen, Secretary of the Governing Board of Costa Mesa
Sanitary District DO HEREBY CERTIFY AND DECLARE that said Board at an
adjourned meeting duly held on August 22nd 1950, has canvassed the
Returns of the Special Election held in said District on August 15th
1950, including the absentee ballots received, and has declared
the results of said election.
That the proposition voted upon at said election is as follows:
"BOND PROPOSITION: Shall the Costa Mesa Sanitary
District.incur a bonded indebtedness in the principal
sum of P850 000 for the purpose of raising' money for the
acquisition and construction of a system of trunk and
lateral sewers, including the acquisition of all easements
and other property necessary therefor ?"
