Minutes of the Board of Directors Special Meeting Held September 3, 1997

The Board of Directors of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District attended a meeting of the Costa
Mesa Chamber of Commerce Environmental Committee on September 3, 1997, 7:30 a.m. at
1835 Newport Boulevard, E -270, Costa Mesa.
Directors Present: James Ferryman, Arlene Schafer, Dan Worthington
Staff Present: Robin Hamers, Lois Thompson, Dawn Guastella
The minutes of the meeting are as follows:
1. Introduction by Bill Culbertson.
2. Moderator, Rick Pickering, outlined the presentation format. He requested that written
questions be submitted to him for discussion.
3. The Costa Mesa Sanitary District gave a Presentation re: Proposal to City of Costa Mesa
Regarding Opportunities in Commercial Trash Hauling. Mr. Hamers provided
background information on the purpose of the study conducted by the District. Ms.
Thompson discussed the details of the survey and its conclusions. Mr. Hamers presented
information on the method utilized by the City of Newport Beach. Directors Ferryman and
Worthington provided further clarification on the proposal.
4. Attendees posed questions to representatives of the District, City and Haulers.
The meeting adjourned at 8:45 a.m.
No action was taken by the Board of Directors of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District.
