Minutes of Special Meeting Held
February 22, 1996
The Board of Directors of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District attended the Resource Management
Alliance Scavenging Seminar on February 22, 1996 at the Radisson Plaza Hotel at 18800 MacArthur
Blvd., Irvine, California.

The seminar was entitled Scavenging: Help or Hindrance. It was attended by representatives from
agencies of Orange and Los Angeles Counties. The panels discussed the social and fiscal
implications of scavenging. The luncheon speaker, Gary Petersen, Director of Recycling America,
• spoke on the lighter side of recycling. The afternoon portion consisted of small group programs on
anti - scavenging programs, enforcement aspects and prevention/public education.

No action was taken by the Costa Mesa Sanitary District Board of Directors.
