by the contractor and manufacturer In the presence of the District Engineer. When all equipment is in proper
workipg order a start -up should be scheduled.

7. Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Pressure Pipe and Fittings:

S. TESTING:
A, Penairal - The contractor shall, at his own expense, furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and water necessary
or tests and for reworking unacceptable piping. Control piping and tubing shall be tested as directed by the
District Engineer and as recommended by the applicable control manufacturers. Prior to testing, all lines shall
be flushed clean with fresh water and all obstructions shall be removed.
11. Pressure Piping - The contractor shall test all pressure piping and appurtenances in the presence of the District
Engineer. The pipe trench shall be partially backfilled and joints shall be exposed during the test. However,
then in the opinion of the District Engineer, local conditions require the trenches be backfilled immediately
after the pipe has been laid, the pressure test may be made after backfilling has been completed but before
placement of permanent paving. The duration of the test shall be 2 hours unleamotherwise directed by the Engineer.
Unless otherwise specified the test pressure shall be 50 psi at the lowest elevation of the system.
Any noticeable leaks shall be stopped and any defective pipe shall be replaced with now sections.

Concrete thrust blocks shall be installed at the locations and in accordance with the positions and
