Scavenging : In the m onth o f June, there were three c all s made to the District HQs to

One call was to report scavenging activity in front of 175 Virginia Pl. Upon a rrival, I made

was released. A second call came in to report scavenging activity in the 1960 Block of
Church St. Subject was gone on arrival. The third, and last call, ca me to report scavenging
activity in the 1750 Block of Whittier Ave. Unfortunately, this community is not serviced by
CMSD/CR&R, so I have no jurisdiction; information was forwarded to the city of Costa

Graffiti : The 2100 -2200 Block of Placentia Ave has several trash bins with graffiti on them.
I will meet with CR&R Route Manager, Fra nk Campos, to plan and come up with a time
frame to remove the graffiti from the trash bins.
Trash Container Enforcement : In the month of June , there was one complaint that came
into the District HQ s to report an address that leave s their trash bins (t/b) in public sight
(p/s). I made a site visit to the following address :
3274 Turlock Dr – Tagged w/ a 1 st Noti ce (Yellow)
The Eastside of Costa Mesa continues to be a priority; addresses on Santa Ana Ave, Knox
Pl, Orang e Ave, Knox St, and Ogle St. So far, out of the 17 1 st Notices issued, only 2 of
those addresses needed a 2 nd Notice to achieve compliance. I will continue to sweep the
area and issue notices if needed.
A summary of the courtesy notice process for the District OEO is provided in the following
chart and demonstrates the effectiveness of a “1 st N otice”:
