The Directors of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District met in special
session at 4 :00 P.M. on March 16, 1962, upon call of the President
of the Board, to discuss Ordinance No. 705 adopted by Sanitation
District No. 7, and to discuss the areas which are in the District
and are also included within the City of Newport Beach.
The meeting was called to order by President Meyers.
Ordinance No. Attorney Dungan informed the Board that he had received a copy of
705 -- Sanitation Ordinance No. 705 adopted by Sanitation District No. 7, which
District No. 7 affects some of our property owners within the Costa Mesa Sanitary
District.
After discussion, Director Stephens made a motion, seconded by
Director Porter, and unanimously carried, to instruct the Attorney
for the District to take the necessary action required to have
Ordinance No. 705 amended, excluding all property owners who are
now in the Costa Mesa Sanitary District, or who might come into
the District in the future by way of annexation, from having to
pay this connection charge.
Newport Beach The City Attorney reported that the staff of the City of Newport
Request for Beach had asked for a meeting with the staff of the Costa Mesa
Re- alignment Sanitary District to determine whether or not the Board of the
of CMSD Boundaries Costa Mesa Sanitary District would be willing to discuss the ques-
tion of boundary changes of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District in
the areas inside the City of Newport Beach.
Upon motion by Director Hollister, seconded by Director Stephens,
and unanimously carried, the staff of the Costa Mesa Sanitary
District was authorized to discuss with the staff of the City of
Newport Beach the question of boundary re- alignment, provided
that the discussion include the re- alignment of all boundaries
affecting the two areas, including but not limited to City boun-
daries, water, street lighting, parks and recreation, and that
all persons having interest in these boundaries be included in
the discussions.
Adjournment By motion of Director Stephens, seconded by Director Hollister,
and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 5:05 p.m.
