The Board of Directors of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District met in
adjourned regular session at 12 :00 noon, August 23, 1961, at the
City Hall, 695 West 19th Street, Costa Mesa, having adjourned by
order of the Board of Directors at its regular meeting of August 2,
1961. The Assistant Secretary reported that a copy of the Order of
Adjournment was posted -as required by law. The meeting was called
to order by President Meyers at 12 :00 noon.
Resolution It was moved by Director Hollister to adopt Resolution No. 134,
No. 134 "A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COSTA MESA SANITARY
DISTRICT OF ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, TRANSFERRING A SUM OF MONEY
FROM THE SEWER CONSTRUCTION FUND TO THE B & I REDEMPTION FUND FOR
TAX CODE AREA "B" FOR THE RETIREMENT OF THE BOND ISSUE IN THE
ORIGINAL SUM OF $760,000.00 DATED OCTOBER 1, 1956.
The motion was seconded by Director Porter and carried by the
following roll call vote:

Resolution No. It was moved by Director Stephens to adopt Resolution No. 135, "A
135 - Fixing RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COSTA MESA SANITARY
Tax Rate DISTRICT OF ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, FIXING THE TAX RATE PER
CENTUM LEVYING A TAX UPON ALL THE TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE
COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT OF ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, WHICH
IS TAXABLE FOR THE OPERATIONAL RUNNING EXPENSES OF THE DISTRICT,
TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST ON BONDS ISSUED BY THE DISTRICT.
The motion was seconded by Director Porter and carried by the
following roll call vote:

Tax Rates After considerable discussion, it was moved by Director Hollister,
seconded by Director Porter, and unanimously carried, that the
Attorney and Manager of the District submit a report on a possible..
differential tax rate for certain properties situated within the
boundaries of the District.
Macco Assistant Secretary Swartz advised the Board that Macco Corporation,
Corporation at its own expense, is causing to be installed sewer lines in their
sub- division, formerly Santa Ana Army Air Base property, to provide
immediate sewer facilities for the new elementary school. The new.
sewer facilities will be used in place of the sewer transmission
main now in a state of disrepair, which served the site on which
the school is located.
Director Hollister made a motion, seconded by Director Porter, and
unanimously carried, that Assistant Secretary Swartz be instructed
to write a letter of appreciation to the Macco Corporation, commend-
ing them for their prompt action and cooperation in saving the
District considerable time and expense.
Adjournment Upon motion by Director Hollister, seconded by Director Stephens,
and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 12 :40 p.m.
