MINUTES OF RECYCLING COMMITTEE MEETING
October 9, 2006
The Costa Mesa Sanitary District Recycling Committee met at 12:00 p.m. at 628 W. 19th
Street, Costa Mesa.
Directors Present: Greg Woodside, Arlene Schafer
Staff Present: Rob Hamers, Tom Fauth, Joan Revak, Denise Gilbert
Director Woodside called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m.
RECYCLING COMMITTEE GOALS FOR 2005/2006
The Committee reviewed the 2005/2006 recycling goals. The Committee goals
will be updated as part of the 2006/2007 Strategic Plan.
TELEPHONE BOOK RECYCLING PROGRAM - NOVEMBER 13 THROUGH DECEMBER 22,
2006.
Ms. Revak presented the invitation mailed to Costa Mesa public and private
schools inviting them to participate in the 2006 Telephone Book Recycling
Program. The District offers awards of a minimum of $200 up to a maximum of
$400 for participation in the program. An additional $400 prize is given to each
of the winners in the Elementary, Middle School and High School categories.
UNIVERSAL WASTE- REQUIREMENTS EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 9,2006
A second E-Waste collection event will be scheduled for January 2007 and Mr.
Fauth is looking into two vendors to sponsor the event.
LARGE ITEM COLLECTION-JUNE 12 THRU AUGUST 26,2006
Ms. Revak presented the request to CR&R for a reimbursement for the white
goods collection.

USED TIRE ROUND UP-OCTOBER 21, 2006
Mr. Fauth reported the Used Tire Round-Up is scheduled for October 21, 2006
from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the City Corporation Yard. The event will be
publicized in the Daily Pilot and on the information boards at Estancia High
School and the Orange County Fairgrounds.
OUTREACH INFORMATION FROM EARTH RESOURCES FOUNDATION
Ms. Fauth reported the District has not yet received the outreach information
from Earth Resources Foundation.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:55 p.m.
