AMENDMENT TO ORDINANCE NO. ONE, BEING AN ORDINANCE OF THE COSTA MESA SANITARY
DISTRICT OF ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, REGULATING AND PROVIDING FOR THE INSTAL-
LATION AND INSPECTION OF CONNECTIONS TO MAIN SEWER LINE, AND FOR THE ISSUANCE
OR PERMITS FOR SUCH INSTALLATION.
The members of the COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT of Orange County, California,
do ordain that Section 4, of Ordinance No. One, be amended to read as follows:-
"SECTION 4. Any person, firm, or corporation, as principal agent or otherwise,
desiring to engage in the business of constructing street connections within
the Costa Mesa Sanitary District of Orange County, California, shall file with
the Secretary of said Costa Mesa Sanitary District, an indemnity bond with good
and sufficient sureties and in the penal sum of One Thousand dollars ($1,000.00),
such bond being payable to the Costa Mesa Sanitary District of Orange County,
California, to protect the said Costa Mesa Sanitary District from all liabilities
for damage to persons or property resulting in or from any opening or excavation
made by such person, firm or corporation; to guarantee the payment when due of
all the bills for materials and labor incurred by said person, firm or corporation
in the construction of sewer connections; and to indemnify all persons, firms or
corporation for whom said person, firm or corporation shall thereafter construct
sewer connections for damages sustained on account of the failure of said person,
firm or corporation to construct the sewer connections in accordance with the
requirements of this Ordinance. All such persons shall file with the Board of
the District, satisfactory evidence that said person is the holder of a valid
State Contractor's License with a classification of IA -11 or IC -421, except as
provided for in Section 2 of the within Ordinance."
Section 12 of Ordinance No. One is hereby repealed.
The Secretary of said District shall certify to the amendments of Ordinance
No. One, and shall cause the same to be published once in the Costa Mesa Globe -
Herald, a newspaper of general circulation, printed; published and circulated
in the Costa Mesa Sanitary District of Orange County, California, and seven (7)
days from and after the passage of these amendments they shall take effect and
be in full force.

California, do hereby certify that the foregoing Amendments to Ordinance No.
One of the COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT were passed and adopted at a regular
meeting of the Board of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District held on the 4th day
of February, 1954, by the following vote:
AYES: Board Members TeWinkle, Nelson, Lord, Norman and Meyers.,
NOES: Board Members None.
ABSENT: Board Members None
