Reso 1962-143r RESOLUTICN NO. 62 -143 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT OF ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, RECOMMENDING THE FAVORABLE PASSAGE OF UNITED STATES SENATE BILL NO. 2009 AND UNITED STATES HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES BILL NO. 10728; AND REQUESTING,THE SUPPORT OF THE PASSAGE OF SAID BILLS BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COSTA MESA AND OTHER APPROPRIATE BODIES. WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District of Orange County that there is now pending for consideration before the United States Congress, Senate Bill No. 2009 and House of Representatives Bill No. 10728 pertaining to an appropriation for the research and technical assistance to cities and counties in connection with the problem concerning the cost of refuse collection and disposal; and WHEREAS, the costs of refuse collection and disposal of the same for the cities of the United States generally are-extremely high and rising annually; and that research in this field could be of extreme importance to all cities affected, including the area within the Costa Mesa Sanitary District of Orange County; and WHEREAS, it appears desirable that support be given to the favorable passage of United States Senate Bill No. 2009 and House of Representatives Bill No. 10728. NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Directors of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District of Orange County does hereby find, determine, declare and resolve as follows: 1. That the Costa Mesa Sanitary District of Orange County, California, go on record as favoring the passage of United States Senate Bill No. 2009 and House of Representatives Bill No. 10728, providing the funds necessary for the research and technical assistance to cities and counties in the collection of refuse and disposal of same. 2. That copies of this resolution go to the appropriate congressional representatives from this District and State; and 3. That it be brought to the attention of the City Council -1- of the City of Costa Mesa that the Costa Mesa Sanitary District of Orange County has recommended the adoption of such legislation and recommends that said body also support the same legislation; and that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Board of Supervisors of Orange County, California, and other sanitary districts within the County of Orange, indicating the position taken by the Costa Mesa Sanitary District of Orange County and urging -the support of other governmental bodies and districts.
