TRICT CALLING SPECIAL BOND ELECTION
TO BE HELD IN SAID DISTRICT ON
AUGUST 15, 1950,

The Governing Board of the Costa Mesa Sanitary District of Orange County,
California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows:
Section 1; That in the judgment of this Board it is advisable,to call an
election and submit to the electors of Costa Mesa Sanitary and sold for the prupose
of raising money to the amount and for the pruposes hereinafter specified.
Section 2. That a special election be held and the same is hereby called to
be held in the said Costa Nlesa Sanitary District on Tuesday, August 15, 1950, for
the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of said district the question
whether bonds in the principal amount of $850,000 shall be issued and sold for the
purpose of raising money for the acquisition and construction of a system of trunk
and lateral sewers, including the acquisition of all easements and other property
necessary therefor.
Section 3. That the amount of the proposed bond issue is the principal
sum of $850,000; that the rate of interest payable thereon shall not exceed six per
cent (6 %) per annum, payable semiannually; that the number of years which the bonds,
or any portion thereof, are to run shall not exceed thirty (30) years from the date of
issuance thereof. That if the proposition for the incurring of said bonded indebted-
ness submitted at said election receives the requisite number of votes, to wit, two -
thirds of the votes of the qualified voters voting at said election, bonds of said
District in not exceeding the principal amount stated in such proposition shall be
issued and sold for the,objects and purposes set forth in said proposition.
Section 4. That the polls for said election shall be opened at seven
o'clock A.M. of the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from
said time until seven o'clock P.M. of the same day, when said polls shall be closed,
except as provided in Section 5734 of, the Elections Code of the State of California.
Section 5. That on the ballots to be used at said special election, in
addition to any other matter required by law, there shall be printed substantially
the following:

(ABSENTEE BALLOTS MAY BE MARKED WITH PEN AND INK OR PENCIL
INSTRUCTIONS TO VOTERS
To vote on any measure, stamp a cross (4) in the voting square after the
words "BONDS YES" or after the words "BONDS NO." All marks except the cross (/) are
forbidden and make the ballot void.
If you wrongly stamp, tear or deface this ballot, return it to the Inspector
of election and obtain another.
On Absent voter's ballots mark a cross (/) with pen or pencil.

shall be counted in favor of the adoption of the question or proposition. A cross q)

adoption of the question or proposition.
Section 7. That for the purpose of holding said election there are hereby
established three election precincts designated as hereinafter stated. The polling
places for the respective precincts shall be the places hereinafter designated and
the persons hereinafter named, being competent and qualified electors of said
district and of.their respective election precincts are hereby appointed officers of
election, and they shall hold said election and make return thereof in the manner pro-
vided by law.
Consolidated voting precinct "A" shall consist of all of Costa Mesa Precinct
No. 16 and those protions of Costa Mesa Precincts Nos.l, 6, 7 and 15 lying within
said district, as said precincts are now established for the holding of state and
county elections.

lying within said district, as said precincts are now established for the holding of
state and county elections.

Section 8. That except as otherwise provided herein, said election shall
be held and conducted as nearly as practicable in accord with general laws of the
State of California. .
Section 9. That this governing Board shall meet at its usual place of
meeting on Tuesday, August 22, 1950, at 8 o'clock P.M., and proceed to canvass the
election returns and declare the results of said election.
Section 10. That notice of the election hereby called shall be given by a
notice thereof containing the matters required by law and signed by the members of this
Board or by a majority thereof, which notice shall be published once a week for three
successive weeks in the COSTA MESA GLOBE HERALD, a weekly newspaper of general
circulation printed and published in said District, and shall, not less than twenty days
before said election, be posted in three public places in said district, to wit: One
on fence at 1979 Harbor Boulevard, one on post at 400 East 17th Street, and one on build-
ing at 111 'East Broadway. The Secretary of this Board is hereby authorized and
directed to post and publish said notice, or cause the same to be posted and published,
all in accordance with the provisions hereof. No other notice of such election need
be given.
Section 11. That this resolution and order, together with -the certificate
attached thereto, shall be entered in full on the minutes of this Board.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Governing Board of Costa Mesa
Sanitary District on July 6th, 1950 at a regular meeting of said Board by
the following vote:

In Witness of the passage of the foregoing resolution and order, the
undersigned, constituting not less than two thirds of the members of the Governing
Board of Costa Mesa Sanitary District, have hereunto set their hands the date of the
