few recyclable cans and bottles. Ms. Revak informed the Committee of contacting the
Costa Mesa High School representative in charge of the program to request providing
additional publicity to the beverage can /bottle recycling program. Ms. Barankin offered
suggestions such as placing trash containers next to beverage containers to

At the TeWinkle Park site where three beverage containers are located, It was much the
same as the high school, with trash in the beverage containers and cans and bottles in
trash cans.
The Goathill Junction location proved the most worthwhile with the container filled with
cans and bottles.
Ms. Barankin suggested initiating the program at other schools and emphasized it could
be very profitable for the school if well publicized.
Ms. Barankin advised it would be appropriate to place CMSD signage on the containers
to promote the District's participation in the program.

present a summary of expenses to date and funds remaining at the February 10, 2000
