I. The sewer system shall conform to the standards of the Costa
Mesa Sanitary District.
2. Contractor shall request inspection from the office of the District
Engineer 48 hours prior to commencement of work. Tel. (714! 63/ -1731
3 Any work performed without inspection from the District shall
be considered unacceptable.
4. Contractor shall obtain C M..S.D. sewer permit prior to construction
from the Department of Streets and Sanitation, City of Costa
Mesa, 77 Far Drive. Tel (714) 754-5323.
5 Contractor shall obtain all necessary permits that may be requirea
by the local governing agency.
6 Contractor to have a• copy of approved sewer plan and CMS.D.

7 Clay pipe joints shall be Type `G" mechanical compression joints
for main line sewer Type "D" joints, Band -Seal or approved
equal, are approved for loterals and repair work only.

12. Prior to asphalt concrete paving, manhole frames and covers shall
be left 6" below finish grade. After street surfacing is completed,
frames and covers shall be raised to, grade per Sid. Dwg. N° S -105.
13. Sewer manhole frame and cover shall be Alhambra Foundry A -1270,
or approved equal. Cover to be stomped 'SEWER'.
14. Sewer main shall be balled after al/ manhole frames and covers
have been raised to grade.

16 Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining warning devices, flashing arrow boards,
lights and flogmen in accordance with "WORK AREA TRAFFIC'
CONTROL HANG ±OJK " published by Building News, Inc., 1985
17 Trench backfill material shall be crushed aggregate base and shall be installed per
CCM Std. 6/3. Bedding and french resurfacing shall be per CCM Std. 813. A
permit shall be obtained from CCM prior to commencing work.

related to these plans shall conduct their operations so that all
persons are provided a safe place to work and the public is
protected. All contractors and subcontractors shall comply with
me State of California Department of Industrial Relations,
Division of Industrial Safety and Health, "CONSTRUCTION
SAFETY ORDERS." The District Engineer shall not be responsible
in any way for the contractors and subcontracts s compliance
with these orders.
Contractor further agrees that he shall assume sole and complete
responsibility for job site conditions during the course of construchbo
of this project, including safety of all persons and property;
that this requirement shall apply continuously and not be limited
to normal working hours; and that the contractor shall defend,
indemnify, and hold the Costa Mesa Sanitary District and the
District Engineer harmless from any and all liability, real or
alleged, in connection with the performance of work on this project.

Costa Mesa Sanitary District, or the District Engineer.
The existence, approximate location and extent of any underground
- utilities or structures shown hereon have been obtained by a search
of the available records. The contractor is required to take due
precautionary measures to protect the utility lines shown and any

performing the contract, discovers utility facilities not shown hereon,
he shall immediately notify the District Engineer in writing.
