NOTICE TO -CON TRAC TORS
All contractors and subcontractors performing wont shown on or
related to these plans shall conduct their cperafions so that all
persons are provided a safe place to work and the public is
protected. All contractors and subcontractors shall comply with

Division of Industrial Safety and Health, "CONSTRUCTION
SAFETY ORDERS," The District Engineer shall not be r-espeansib /e
in any way for the contractor's and subcontractor's compliance
with these orders. _
Contractor further agrees that he shall assume sole ond,. complete
responsibility for job site conditions during the course of constructxn
of this project, including safety of all persons and property;
that this requirement shall apply continuously and not be limited
to normal working hours; and that the contractor shall defend,
indemnify, and hold the Costa Mesa Sanitary District and the
District Engineer harm less from'any and all liability, real or
alleged, in connection with the performance of work on this project,
excepting for liability arising from the sole negligence of the
Costa Mesa Sanitary District, or the District Engineer.
The exisfence, approximate location and extent of any underground
utilities or structures shown hereon have been obtained by a search
of the available records. The contractor is required to take due
precautionary measures to protect the utility lines shown and any
other lines not of record or not shown. If the contractor, while
performing the contract, discovers utility facilities not shown hereon,
he shall immediate ly notify the District Engineer in writing.

2 Contractor shall request inspection fran the office of the District
Engineer 46 hours prior 10 commencement of work. Tel (714 &N - /7S..
3 Any work performed without inspection from the District shall
be considered unacceptable.
4 Contractor shall obtain C.M.SD. sewer permit prior to construction
from the Department of Streets and Sanitation, City of Costa
Mesa, 77 Far Drive. Tel (714) 754 -5323.
5 Contractor shall obtain all necessary permits that may be required
by the local governing agency.
6. Contractor to have a• copy of approved sewer plan and CAMD,
Standard Pons and Specifications on job site at a// times.
7 Cloy pipe joints shall be Type "G" mechanical compression joints
for main line sewer. Type "D" joints, Bond -Seal or approve,
equal, are approved for laterals and repair work only.
8. 6." laterals shall be constructed from the sewer main to every lot.
9 Al/ laterals shall be placed prior to surfacing of streets.

1 /. Sewer main shall be air or water tested meeting District
Engineers approval
12. Prior to asphalt concrete paving, manhole frames and covers shall
be left 6" below finish grade. After street surfacing is completed.,
frames and covers shall be raised to grade per Std. Dwg. N° S -105.
13. Sewer manhole frame and cover shall be A/hombro Foundry A -1270,
or approved equal. Cover to be stomped 'SEWER'.
14 Sewer main shall be balled after al/ manhole frames and covers
have been raised to grade. I -
15. PVC pipe moy be used only with prior approval from the District
Engineer.
16. Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining warning devices, flashing arrow boards,
lights and flagmen in accordance with "WORK AREA TRAFFIC'
CONTROL HANDBOOK It published by Building News, Inc.; 1965
17 Trench backfill material shall be class - 100E sand cement slurry and shall be tnstolled per
CCU Std. 613. Bedding and french resurfacing shall be per CCU Std. 813 A
permit shall be obtained from CCM prior to commencing work.
